For many years, France was the best in food. French food was famous all over the world. Many people came to France to eat. France was the home of great chefs. But in recent years, this changed. Foreign chefs now win French food contests.

In 2024, a wine from England won a big prize. It was the first non-French winner in 34 years. Many people felt very surprised. France was the home of the best champagne.

New Winners from Other Countries

An American woman won a cheese contest in France. No American won this prize before her. Many Japanese chefs now win food contests. They work with great care and skill. Japanese chefs win meat competitions. They practice for many months.

They train every day. They cut meat with great care. Some French chefs do not join contests. They are very busy at work.

Training for contests takes a long time. Chefs practice again and again. Winning a contest can change a life. Some chefs become famous after one win. English sparkling wine is now popular. Many people now like this drink.
